Pakistan vs England (2nd Test)

The First day of the Second Test ended with a big chance for England to get revenge of the big defeat at Lord’s. They ended the day 1 with 314-4 where the captain led his side from the front and scored a magnificent Hundred also the most reliable batsmen of the team Joe Root supported his captain a lot and he is still batting at 141 not out. From Pakistan it was looking as they forgot the basics and couldn’t do much as people were expecting from them. 4 drop catches, Fragile bowling and many were the reason as they couldn’t perform much on the first day. Muhammad Amir and Rahat Ali both took 2 wickets and gave Pakistan some hope that quick wickets in early session can give them a chance to fight back.

Starting from Pakistan where on a batting Paradise wicket the bowlers also struggled a lot and some drop catches caused a lot of harm to the bowlers. None of the bowler couldn’t do much except Amir and Rahat who both took 2 wickets. The Leggie Yasir Shah bowled 31 overs but couldn’t get his very best which he was expecting in the match. Now Pakistan is in a sort of Pressure as the bowlers needs to use the morning conditions very well and they have to wrap up the English team as soon as they can. Conditions are quite favorable for batting and Pakistani batsmen have to mentally strong instead of taking pressure of a big trail. Pakistan no doubt has a batting line up which can tackle because 6 of their batsmen have 40+ average and are in top 30 rankings. So they just don’t need to be panic and keep them calm and use the conditions well.

Coming towards the English side who will be happy after the first day but still a lot of work left to level the series. Their batsmen have done a great contribution but still they will be aiming about 450-500 to get Pakistan under pressure and then they will try to get them out in both innings. England have Anderson and strokes back and now they have a very strong bowling attack but still the conditions are quite good for batting so they have to bowl at very decent line and length to get Pakistani batsmen. Overall England has put Pakistani side under pressure but still if they got out cheaply tomorrow that will release the pressure from Pakistan and they will bat with cool and calm.

Conditions for the second day are quite favorable for batting and a very sunny day is expected but not for the 3rd and 4th day so let’s see in which direction this test match goes.
